- Is this legal?
Your city (see link below) has passed an ordinance amending to provide for the enforcement of certain traffic violations by automated means. Please click the link below for your specific city to view the passed ordinance.
- Who set the guidelines for this ordinance?
The Louisiana Department of Transportation (LADOT) revised May 2023 guidelines were used to enact this ordinance, capture evidence and create citations. The complete document can be viewed from the payment portal or by going to: LA Photo Enforcement Policy.
- Where is the evidence?
Go to the payment portal and select the citation number to review the evidence.
- That’s not my car!
Please call the toll-free number associated with the city where your violation occurred. This can be found on the citation you received by mail. You may alternatively email help@metatraffic.net.
- I was not driving!
As the owner, you are responsible for this citation. If someone else was driving, you can have them go online and pay using your citation information. If you would like to transfer the liability to the responsible party, please download the Transfer of Liability form and submit to help@metatraffic.net.
- Can I contest this citation in Court?
Yes! You may request a Court Date to contest the citation.
Go to the payment portal and review the photo evidence. Click the request for hearing button and Pay the Cash Bond Fee and show up for Court. You must do this before your due date. If the Court rules in your favor, you will be refunded the amount you paid.

- Can I get an extended Court date?
Yes! Go to the payment portal and select NEW COURT DATE. A new court date will be assigned for your appearance.

- Does this go on my Insurance?
NO! None of this information will go on your insurance records!
- Does this go on my Driving Record?
NO! None of this information will go on your DMV records!
- Is there a Payment plan?

- What if I don’t have a checking account or credit/debit card?
Go to Walmart and purchase a prepaid card for the amount due. Go to payment portal on the Citation and pay using the card.
- What happens if I don’t pay?
If payment is not made by the due date a late fee of $30.00 will be added to the citation amount due. If payment is not received within 30 days past the due date, your citation will go to a collection agency with additional fees due. This may adversely affect your credit score. Multiple unpaid citations may result in criminal scoff law charges.
